Reading a lot of these comments and wondering how it is that we smugly consider ourselves the evolved ones.

It breaks my heart to see a beautiful creature behind a glass wall like that. What a horrible world where he is a spectacle instead of being free to live his life among nature. Humans have done horrible things to our living counterparts. :(

This isn’t true. Uber drivers are less screened than most taxi drivers, and the company has more information (and the drivers do too) than your typical car service. When I hop in a yellow cab, I hop in on a random corner and I get dropped off near but not directly where I’m going.

Medallion taxi drivers are bonded, have to pass extensive background checks, and undergo regular inspections.

You can ignore it if, like I said, you get complacent or you are very drunk or for any number of reasons. Unless you think human behavior is infallible I don’t see how you could disagree.

Well I think my take awy here is more American cabs are rubbish than Uber is spectacular.

I’m amazed that anyone ever would use Uber. I would not use Uber and I am a tall and well-built man who could possibly look maybe sort of intimidating under the right circumstances. I am suspicious of the life-skills of anyone who relies on Uber, to be quite frank.

Well that and the fact that several women have been attacked by perfectly legitimate Uber drivers so sometimes none of that would help.

A person driving a black Civic can’t pretend to be a yellow taxi. It’s why taxis are colored yellow (or whatever) in the first place. So they are easily identifiable as taxis.
