[glass breaks] [Stone Cold entrance music]

I was driving home from work with SXMFC on the radio and a pinned score, Google live score, and text updates on the phone. Nearly carried on straight off the freeway a few times. Totally worth it, even if the boys get bounced without another result. COYS.

(analyzing Stefon Diggs’ catch-and-run near the end of the first half) “That was brilliant, gets away from Trevathan, and here comes the caravan-”

And don’t forget the post move at 3:03 of the YouTube video. Have you ever seen someone attack with enough raw filth to freak out camera sensors before?

I’d love it if someone could please explain to me why red-assed folks’ first defense against criticism of professionals is “OH, so you think YOU could do better?”

+1 baseball dong(er?)

“We sure will.”

Mr. Jensen, you must understand. Yes, right now we’re pummeling you with baseball bats. However, we’re not pummeling you with baseball bats because we enjoy it, or because it’s a form of punishment. You see, there was this mysterious shaman that lived in the jungles of the Amazon...”

This just in: Chicago-suburban Bears fan passes away, has remains brought to Al’s on Taylor to be ground up and formed into series of spheres, because “dat Dan BARN-STINE said I’ll always be a Bears meatball and who’s laffin’ now?”

I read the first sentence, thought “hmmm... ‘color P.o.C. commentator’ might be funny”, scrolled down, and observed a better version of the same joke hit less than 10 minutes after publication.

A relatively unknown middle reliever who also happens to be hurt, no less.

Mercy.

“This guy right here <telestrator circle around pcrbbbnyc>, he gets a star.” -JG

Not quite, though I’d imagine P&W would’ve had one for the ages.

My company’s record for a Reply-All storm is 96 hours.

You both forgot the grittiest, hard-working everyman of them all—Jahsh MuhGowin.

Here’s a good blurb on catch probability (and a mighty fine example of an improbable catch), though I don’t think I’ve personally seen it deployed enough to form any sort of meaningful opinion on it yet. Haven’t seen the Herrera catch you’re referring to... maybe he made a hard play harder but fixed it with speed or

Never has a long turd of an extended thought been more beautiful.

I guess so, though for ERA to explicitly incorporate that factor means somehow introducing average launch angle/velocity against, or average groundouts/sub-250' flyouts per, or something. And even if you add those, weakly-hit balls in the gap still result in hits all the time. That’s why I’m more supportive of FIP

How come? FIP looks complicated at first blush, but anything more accurately representing a player’s value (while accounting for extraneous factors) is in itself a more valuable way to evaluate a player, at least to me. WAR or all the iterations of ‘runs-saved’ are probably even more useful since you can compare
