Second's nice, it's underrated as a gear

Loving this series! It keeps reminding me how much I love my 2012 Leaf. These really are tragically underrated cars, as long as the range isn’t a problem, and they don’t get nearly enough appreciation. I also use the 110v charger every night - it’s slow, but for a small battery, that doesn’t matter. I haven’t worried

James had me in the first half, not gonna lie.

Now playing

Probably unrelated, but Traxxas just released a really cool R/C version of this truck.

So this looks cool and all, but... does the Doctor spend the whole thing in prison? Is this a “Blink”-style Doctor-lite episode?

Grogu is a cool name and all, but Taika Waititi told us his name was Nigel. He’ll always be Nigel to me.

So... right now?

Ever wonder how much electricity is used in the production of gasoline?

If this isn’t in it, I’m going to be very disappointed.

Lincoln would definitely last longer. Understanding the laws of physics is one thing, but experiencing them is something else entirely. While the trains that existed in Lincoln’s lifetime weren’t remotely fast by modern standards, having any experience riding in a motorized vehicle would be an advantage here, and

I’ve been daily driving one of these (a 2012) for 5 years.

Careful, this is how you get a Belle Delphine situation.

Recycle? Sell? Throw away?

I don’t see any news stories about Leaf batteries flying into apartments and exploding, do you? That range comes at a cost of safety.

There is a better way - large rectangular pouch cells. Nissan has been using them in the Leaf since 2011, and every other current EV manufacturer uses them. They’re vastly safer than Tesla’s cylindrical cells and nearly as energy dense.

They’re Panasonic 18650 cells. Similar to AAs but slightly larger. They’re one of the most common types of lithium-ion cell, and they’re very commonly used in laptops and other electronics. A Model 3 battery pack contains roughly 3,000 of them.

The entirety of The Grand Tour is an uninspired retread. I don’t know if it was the change of platform, the increase in budget or just plain laziness, but from the very beginning, TGT has lacked something Top Gear had. It just isn’t fun anymore. Everything on TGT has felt like a pale imitation of TG.

Ehhh, nope. Anyone who is far enough gone to still be a COVID denier is beyond help.

I freaking love Love Story. It was the first song of hers I heard, and will forever be among my favorites.

The ‘80s produced many interesting, well-proportioned and beautiful cars.

Well, that’s just good manners.
