They’re huge. There are no compact trucks on the market, period.

You are repeatedly revealing that you don’t understand the basics of the business of racing. It is a HUGE outlay — investment — that has very little or negative return in awareness, familiarity, or regard for the brands that underwrite it anymore. Formula 1 (a top-level series) may hold its viewership numbers but for

It all depends on the objective, of course. As it is now, however, racing serves fewer objectives than before and does so less well by the year. It’s a simple consequence of less viewership, different viewership, and less regard for racing as a positive brand metric.

Racing generally, IMHO. I’ve been involved in marketing effectiveness/investment discussions at two manufacturers; It’s not good (not a ton of people follow non-top level racing, and it tends to be mostly be supported by racing-friendly executives who don’t hold it to ROI metrics.

This. Right. Here. Six-foot bed is minimum and a lot of us don’t need four doors. Which in the current marketplace means...

As a white guy who hears other asshole white guys say things they don’t have the balls to say aloud around minorities, I think you’re absolutely right. HD people are generally not, in the slightest, welcoming of people not like themselves. HD and their dealerships, in turn, have fostered that with branding around

LOL! Whew, that’s a good one...

It’s almost as if you think 00's sales before the recession were normal!

This. Dentists have Cessnas. Plumbers have Harleys.

Nice of you to enjoy watching Americans lose their jobs. Asshole.

If this sounds unusual or shocking to you, then you probably didn’t work a regular job as a teenager.

There’s a bolt-on kit to put K24's in Miatas now. They’re one of the best swaps possible — light, revvy, reliable AF, tunes to great power but doesn’t overpower the chassis...

My girlfriend at the time bought an identical one;black w/6-speed (she was a good woman). *Fantastic* car — Superb engine, understated styling (who does understated anymore?), and one of the slickest manuals I’ve ever used, up there with the S2000 and Miata’s.

“If you have the urge to be a self-important asshole...”

If someone takes one out, and that ear is visibly free, he is clearly listening.

Nah, if I take one out, look you in the eye, and speak, IMHO that is plenty communicative and respectful (unless it’s my girlfriend of course, in which case, oh shit, I’m getting the glare).

Bull. Removing one ear clearly communicates, “we are speaking and I’m listening.” For the simple act of saying “hi, I’ll have a venti coffee please”, one need not take both out. Particularly for those of us using the hard to put back on with one hand (ie, non-coffee holding) over-the-ear headphones.

When the fuck did I say “we’ve all been crying for wagons”?! I was the one who *drove* a wagon while whispering to those planners they shelve/not import them (sorry Jalops).

Oh, I totally agree they’re fantastic and I’d absolutely buy one (I don’t need 20 tons of towing), but they’re not compact in the slightest! Also, the tiny bed doesn’t work for many of us...

Who said it’d be stripped? A *LOT* of people want a smaller vehicle to deal with modern congestion — Incomes for compact SUV buyers now show a huge number are more wealthy than anyone anticipated.
