Miata tracker here; This is utterly perplexing, especially given how tall many of the top Miata racers are and how long ago this issue has been fixed for most of us.

Been an everyday reader since Jalopnik’s third week in existence. For years, since the site’s spiral began, I’ve said that the day Torch leaves is the day Jalopnik should just turn out the lights.

I’m afraid there’s no way around this. The legitimacy of the sport and media property depends upon him leaving — I’ve been a part of F1 sponsorship talks twice and major marketers do NOT want their brands connected to this kind of nonsense.

You’re not using kayak correctly.

Been to a lot of F1 races on three continents; Much as I love it, it’s just not worth this money.

That’s a sweet setup. I stuck with just my roof rack — Not the most stable in high winds (I used a 14.5' and a 17' boat) but stupid simple to launch and stow. A TSX for long trips would be kinda perfect -- comfort, not power, is kinda key and those things are great at that.

This just got FE nixed from a f***ing huge media budget.

Exactly. I had an ‘01 BMW E46 wagon that took my kayak from shoulder to rack in one fell swoop. And it was fun to drive to every remote dock and portal. Wagons FTW.

You are my people. I used an E46 BMW wagon to haul my sea kayaks for ages — that thing took me paddling from Baja to Puget Sound and everything in between.

Kayaks are why wagons rule. My 20 years of *not* using SUVs to haul them is largely responsible for my still-working back.

Perhaps, but the 1500 dead minifigs represent excellent value for money.

Exactly, and I learned double-clutching on a 1968 (I think) MGB! My Valiant’s 225 was pretty torquey so starting in second was never much of an issue but I’d do a quick pump on the way to first and it was about as smooth as a three-on-the-tree can be.

One would expect this to be published by Tracy’s next door neighbors.

Had one; If you double pump it passing through neutral (first is down and back) it’s smooth and “thunk”-free.

JB Weld will fix a ‘65 Valiant radiator annnd it fits in that glovebox!

My first car, a near-identical 2-door ‘65 Valiant, *healed* its broken gearbox after parking it for a week. Now, in reality, the broken gear teeth probably just fell out but I choose to believe the automotive myths:

This is the thing about fiberglass vehicles; They can outlast everything, expectations of longevity chief among them.

Amen. Brownell and safety (or basic common sense) are frequently mutually exclusive things.

Seems light on functionality (to say the least) but I think we all know that’ll change quickly.

Honestly, for its basic functionalities, cleaning floors should’ve been a no-brainer starter point.
