I think it’s important that whites say something in this case. This isn’t about getting white people’s approval-it’s about showing that we (black people) aren’t on our own in this. Showing solidarity, in my opinion, is rarely a bad thing.

Any type of protesting Black Americans do has always been labeled as unhelpful. Congratulations on falling for and pushing a silencing and oppressive narrative.

I don’t remember ever standing for an anthem at any stadium event, now that I think about it. I’m always waiting in the beer line, along with *everyone else.*

Republicans love worshiping symbols like flags and anthems, because it’s a lot easier than actually giving a shit about your fellow citizens and living up to the ideals those symbols are supposed to represent.
