Yup, that solves it, didn't think about that. I do sometimes adjust the mirror to see people on the back in my minivan, but newer models have a secondary tiny curve mirror for that purpose, so I guess the screen can work.
It should display some info or something, if we make the change it can't just do what the mirror…

The technology would have to add a couple things for this to work. You need to be able to move your head to change your view angle so you can see more out of your mirror if you need to. that means some kind of sensor that monitors your eyes position and moves the rear camera to the required angle.
