Don't take this the wrong way, but I don't give a fuck about your parents. I look at COVID cutting down scores of people and hope they're mostly Trump supporters, but getting rid of people that won't help get Medicare for All passed is also fine.

We're not going to get anywhere good without forcing ourselves left. Once the Republican party has enough room to move and people like Massachusetts governors are again mainstream Republicans, this country as a whole will be in a much better place. 

They see it, but they don’t care. Entrenched centrist Democrats are fine losing elections, because they can fundraise against the Republicans, hold onto their power, not have to lead and they’re mostly rich and white, so they aren’t getting hurt by the situation.

So, your solution is to create a strawman of progressives as racists because it suits your narrative.

Nope, you go to the polls and vote for the centrist so the Democrats think that you want centrism. Then the Republicans run someone hard right and the Overton window lurches further to the right again. And again. And again. Do Presidents Gore, Kerry and Hillary ring any bells?
