I think there are parts of RI where this totally flies.

The Democrats and Joe Biden are doing well enough to poison their own well.

Hopefully our nuclear future is disaster-free!

Yes, I know what overt means.  My point is that even if it’s easier to spot, they don’t give a shit because people don’t feel like they have any alternatives.

I've had friends brag about how much they got for their trade in, but in reality I think the dealer just told them what they wanted to hear. I'm pretty sure the overall cost stayed the same.

The vast majority of dealerships wont, or cannot, accept straight up cash for cars anyways. I worked at a LR/Jag/Aston Martin dealership and we had anti-terrorism training that included flagging people purchasing vehicles in cash.

Damn near any BMW, but I’m going to single out the entry level 3 series after options. Fifty. Seven. Thousand. Dollars. for a turbo 4 banger churning out less horsepower than a Chrysler Minivan at 255 HP (I know, BMW underrates their engines). Their interior materials feel cheap, they’ve tried finding ways to nickle

my job* is more important than [most of] my principles. Not money, don’t think they pay most of us very much. Some people can make very good money. Most do not, especially with flooded floors, poor pay plans, and greedy owners

It could hurt the image of the dealership. May cause a customer to not buy any car because “why would they put a car for sale if it’s bad?”. Then they don’t trust the dealership, the managers, F&I, etc. Some customers would be understanding, but not everybody. And salespeople don’t know how they’ll take it. So err on

Not every customer is understanding and intellegent, unfortunately many people will just switch to “if this one is bad they are all bad here” and just leave.

you know why you never see Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus in the same room? it is sort of like that.

When the average gets up to the point where it stops being the average, I’ll stop saying it.

Each and all of the first 25 words typed by that knucklehead are a deep, unforgivable nugget of bullshit that stinks so bad I can smell it though my screen.

Neat, you want to go that route, totally your prerogative - no one can stop you. But much like how the green grocer down the street from me cannot possibly hope to compete on price with the big box grocer across the street from them, I don’t expect them to.

It is not naivete. Every single dealer in my entire province has their entire price (Minus tax, as that can vary) listed - any fees or charges are already listed. Just add the appropriate tax.

No lad, seems like you missed the point: You don’t have to negotiate on car prices. If you want to treat car buying like grocery shopping, buying something on amazon or those kinds of things, that’s completely fine! Take my listed price, add tax to it, and fill your boots. I certainly won’t fight you on it.

Why doesn’t any other retailer trim their margins down to nothing? Anything more than that, they’re basically robbing them.

Again, if you don’t want to deal with the weirdness of car transactions - not a problem, as I’ve said multiple times. Pay MSRP and tax like you would on any other transaction. You won’t find a single dealer on the god damned planet who will fight you on that.

I didn’t realize you typically haggled with Target, Amazon and Walgreens. If you want my price, look at the posted price of the vehicle on the ad, and add 12% for tax. Congrats, you’ve got the posted price to look at. There you go, the same way you buy LITERALLY anything else.

Clearly you haven’t been to a Kia dealer.
