We live in the center of Sydney, 30 floors up. Knock on wood, we’ve yet to see a single spider in our place since we moved there almost 3 years ago.

It is insanely over-air conditioned, but I relish every trip I get to Singapore. After dealing with 6 months of winter in Australia, the land without insulation, I love that it’s always 90F.

The difference being, Singapore isn’t doing it under the auspices of freedom, and is pretty upfront about being anti-democracy. Yeah that doesn’t make it any less draconian, but at least there’s less hypocrisy.

I’m always astonished at how Singaporeans complain about how hot it is all the time, while Singapore has the single most static climate i’ve ever seen. Every day is between 89-91F with a chance of torrential rains, yet everyone I speak with it’s “It’s so hot lately lah”

My partner and I moved to Australia for work a few years back and love it. I’ve been pushing everyone I know to move to Australia or NZ if they can, especially as the US continues its descent into fascism and white nationalism.
