Ha, driving it does make up for the looks. I do agree about the droopy look, I worried about it when I ordered it. At first, I liked the car until about the C-pillar. Spoiler brings the profile upwards, so helps a lot. The AMG front fascia is quite a bit better than the 250 as well.

Woo 8/10*.

Meh, I have a 45 and love it. Spoiler helps the droopy ass look though.

I saw one this weekend, it's like some kind of malformed unicorn of a car.

Although I guess these will be legal imports this year, so yeah, I'm not going to prison.

You've mentioned before that Americans don't want to drive slow cars the "only" do 0-60 in 10 seconds, but let's face it who really takes their car to the max on an on ramp anyway.

I'll vouch for this. Houston isn't fun, but it's typically quick and blindly aggressive. Austin roads are awful.

There is a pretty great set of cars coming out with Turbo-4s. I love my CLA45 (which seems to be a polarizing opinion), find the new S3 (and potential RS3) really interesting, then this and the potential for a Focus RS. Sadly we lose the Evo soon, but the STi seems pretty great as well.

I will say that I wouldn't want to exceed 72 months though, 7 years is an incredibly long time.

I have done this as well (with low interest terms available). Its great, since I'm paying well above the monthly payment that a shorter loan term would require. Its just insurance against any kind of "oh shit" month, plus you're months ahead on the loan in the case that it becomes a very "oh shit" set of months.

This may be my favorite comment on Jalopnik, ever.

FWIW, the CLA45 has a pretty sizable waitlist (9-12 months locally). Doesn't necessarily speak to volume of sales, but they are pretty much selling as quickly as they can be made.

Yeah, those in between counties love to nail speeders. I've paid up to Lee County before.

Actively sought out the McLaren F1 that used to be kept in a showroom in London.

I know that stretch well. That's tremendously quick, especially given the west Austin/Bastrop light-extravaganza.

CLA45 regular version gets about 27-28 over a tank on my regular use (half highway/half surface roads, occasionally awful Houston traffic). Can get 31-33 on roadtrips. Just a data point.

I for one will be glad if this doesn't come to the US*.

Absolutely. I checked out the new F150 build tool (merely out of curiosity) and was overwhelmed by the variants possible. And they've cut down on the number of trims available this year.

I had a Chevy Cobalt (I won't rail on it too much, it did its job while I was in school). Now have a CLA45 and am likewise much happier. Down with logical car purchases.

This makes me feel much better about my vehicle choice.
