Nonsense. It is not their job to balance the performance of manufacturers who spend millions to develop programs against off the shelf spec cars and engines. If they did that there would literally be no justification for any manufacturer involvement. LMP2 teams should expect to be in the ballpark at best.

It’s almost as if the DPi and LMP2 cars are designed to different regulations and should compete in a different class or something. I wonder how far we have to look to find a racing series where two very similar cars compete in different classes because of different design constraints. IMSA? Oh yeah. IMSA does that…
