and people wonder why we have the largest prisoner population in the world... if he did 125mph in a 35mph zone for 5 miles, yeah that is banana nuts. but cars today with the power they have, if he punched it while doing 40mph, hit 125mph in less than 1/4 mile and then crashed. Yeah stupid but if this is the penality,…
Honestly, if it wasn’t for the stance bit, I’d like the style.
Heh, I just commented almost this exact thing in the thread above. If the judge is basing the punishment on the outcome (which it seems he is) then we need to up the punishment for crashing while texting and driving. If he is basing it on doing 90 over, then lets see all of the people who are caught doing that in…
I think we will see a turn soon, more and more people will be made an example of for reckless or distracted driving. I watched a woman next to me as I was commuting west on I-90 from boston after work with her huge phone mounted on the dash and she was watching the news.
I agree, he wasn’t drunk and its not like the injury was on purpose. He didn’t go out with the intention of crashing the car and injuring someone. This penalty seems harsh based on what we give drunk drivers or people who cause accidents and flee the scene. People on the highway have caused pileups with more injury…
If the guy in the Taho is doing 95 above the speed limit, and 60 above when he crashes, let’s have that conversation.
In Michigan, if he did that AND injured someone, that’s a felony. “Reckless driving causing impairment of bodily function”. Punishable by up to 5 years in jail.
I’m the first one to say to keep that madness off the streets. If you want to drive a car at it’s limit, track days are super easy to get involved with.
Not just a daycare, but an actual elementary school. And there are some apartments and houses only a couple blocks away. I’m surprised they’ve gotten away with what they do for so long. I mean, I’m all for it, and I would love to live nearby, but still.
I know it’s a joke and all, but zoning laws probably ensure no one lives within a half mile of them. Very obviously industrial based on the docks/bays. But, a daycare is (was?) next door and they explained they keep scumbaggery down until the afternoon/evening when the kids are gone. So they’re more considerate than…
We do drifting with some autocross events, those at the nascar track, where sound limitations dont exist. Those cars (drifting, no idea about nascar) are so loud that you cant talk to someone next to you, while being 1000 ft away. But the neighborhood cant complain, or dosnt, I dont know which. Cause nascar.
I feel like 355 ownership isn’t worth it for absolutely anyone...ever...
