a diminished focus on promoting games far before they’re ready for public consumption.

You reminded me of PC shopping and upgrading in the early 90s when everything was moving so fast and in leaps and bounds. The salesman actually talked my dad down a bit when we bought a PC by telling him something along the lines of “Honestly, it doesn’t really matter how much money you spend, it’s gonna be outdated

Jamie Kennedy, an actor who I mostly remember from the height of his career as “Not Seth Green, took a job that was at least more professionally rewarding than whatever else he’s being offered and it pays his bills for a few more months. Can’t say I blame the guy.

Yohoho.

Nah, this aint it. I’ve made fries at home that were crispy and delicious using nothing but potatoes, water, oil, and salt. It’s not hard, and mine don’t come out with the texture of a block of felt.

So his (well compensated) position at the game company is redundant? Great, let him go.

Yet another example of moneyed folk moving into “fun” and “hip” Austin neighborhoods and then immediately griping about everything that makes it fun and hip. We’ll just add this to the playlist along with:

Good thing the really important services, such as banking, make other, more secure authentication options available.

Oh. Wait.

I know myself well enough to know that if that money was an additional $40ish dollars on my weekly paycheck, it would not go anywhere productive. A lifetime of living hand to mouth hasn’t exactly prepared me for the kind of strict financial discipline required to effectively reduce debt or save for larger goals when

“I’ll keep it short and sweet: family, religion, friendship – these are the three demons you must slay if you wish to succeed in business.”

According to the Dilbert Principle he definitely would’ve been promoted out of the way of productive employees several times by now. All the way to upper management where he’s less likely to interfere with actual work.

I’m very fortunate to be working in a small, independently owned company that does not put up with it. We certainly do our best to accommodate our customer’s reasonable requests, but we are assertive about our policies and boundaries and, especially if a customer becomes demanding or abusive, we much prefer to lose a

Invert Y. I’m old enough that this was the standard for most of my childhood and games that won’t let me play with inverted Y are complete unplayable for me.

I have a copy of Skyfall that I can only watch on my PS3 and nowhere else. Not even on my PS4. I’m sure the failure of this platform is wholly unrelated.

My listening setup at work is a pair of Beovox 3000s pushed by a diverse selection of consumer and luxury components. From cheapo Denon and Yamaha home theater receivers to stacks of Mark Levinson and McIntosh separates. I stream Spotify and YouTube. I listen to CDs and SACDs. I watch concert DVDs and BluRays. I

It’s fairly indisputable that Biden promised $2,000 checks that have failed to materialize. We could discuss the hows and whys of this failure until the heat death of the universe but it doesn’t change the fact that he made a promise and has failed to deliver. This isn’t a cute hot take so much as a statement of fact.

Yes. And this is definitely the first generation to only recognize the superficial value of their entertainment, unlike every previous generation, but your generation in particular, which not only had a deep and reverent appreciation for the artwork that they consumed, but was also never accused of shallow interests

Waffle House restaurants in Austin were closed for most of this ordeal. I’m well of aware of the Waffle House Index, and this was indeed terrifying to know.

Most of us in the cities did not vote for the state leadership that got us here. Gerrymandering and suppression favors the votes of the wealthy and the rural.

Work is hard. And people ate because of these kids who did not take a job at Domino’s thinking they’d be impromptu emergency workers. With freezing homes to go home to. But thank you so much for your programs and process analyzing. Don’t know what we’d do without you!
