.....there’s a great MAD TV skit where “Antonio” tries to get “Melanie” to admit that she’s fallen off the wagon.....and how far. Always seemed to me that was Hollywood’s true problem with her.......you don’t need talent to succeed in LaLa......just look at David Spade

That was extremely frustrating! I almost turned it off several times....still not sure I got it all. In an odd twist of fate, I love Downton Abbey, also Julian Fellowes, and have no trouble at all understanding it.....

....this also is a cop-out....people are simply too lazy to make the effort to learn a second- or foreign language.....Admittedly, for the vast majority of the population, language acquisition is difficult, especially if you hope to achieve some level of proficiency......but, God, is the reward worth it! You will…

....I’m gonna call cop-out on that one....it reeks of the ol’ “English is all I need”.....which would be somewhat ameliorated if people at least made an effort to speak their own language better.....

....love all of these, but will NEVER forget being 12 and discovering SCTV, esp. Andrea Martin......the “Let’s Make A Deal” skit where “Monty Hall” tells Andrea Martin he’ll give her $1 for each hole in her sweater....at the end of the skit, she’s still counting....

......just to be clear: what I love about this is the visual of a teacher telling a parent, “You realize, of course, that your child is retarded”......priceless....I still can’t stop laughing.......
