Let’s start getting more obscure. Ever hear of a Quantum? It was a kit car to take your Saab drivetrain and make a spec formula car. The chassis was two large tubes front to back, was also the fuel tank!

The new Oldsmobiles are in early this year!
Big difference between the salt and the Texas mile. Yes a Vette will do that-but its a whole ‘nother world making it hook up on salt.
On salt-more weight is an advantage-correct?
Hey! you are in my spot! At least its mine during the vintage weekend (Toe of the boot-site 287) I won’t get to use it this year though,,,,, :-(
Yes. An absolute TURD of a car. And I’m a very big Datsun fan. Fwd. Ugly. Smogged out pushrod 1300. The only plus was you could change a clutch in 15 minutes.
I could only work on it 4 hours at a time.
I have(had) 3 diesels.
You know-Fuck BaT. Really-they used to be a cool site-it was a buddy around the water cooler-” look what I found on CL!’ thats all Cool cars-found by car people-sent into the site to share with other car people. Now its just a hi priced car auction site. It’s like Barrett Jackson-forcing prices higher needlessly-and…
They were soon promoted to the part procurement department. They were sent out to get 100.000 alternators. When they came back, they had 30,000 from Ford. 30,000 from GM, 30,000. ( And 10,000 from a tractor company no one remembers who.) And from then on, AMC found that by taking defective + out of date parts from the…
NSU sighting—do a shot!
For the same reason the Kenny Roberts had xr100's to train on his dirt track. You got to do things right on a slow bike to keep momentum up-and if you don’t it shows up quick. My old Yamaha 500 probably didn’t have much more power than that-and it would be plenty for a 1/5 mile.
I’ve raced flat track—and I’ve raced cars on 1/4 mile tracks. I’m trying to think about the difference in the racing lines-and where the “offline” begins. I’m picturing ankle breaking holes and berms where you don’t really want them. I’ve seen bikes on car tracks-but not the same night.
This is as far off-road as it should go. No wheel travel-no room for bigger tires- and a 900 lb engine over the front axle. And for the person out there that will post a pick of you lifted Scout set up for off road ( which would be cool as hell), tell me how much you spent being as good as a stock Land Cruiser-CJ or…
I totally agree with you. I worked at a place with an old 4 cylinder one as a plow truck-with the average amount of rust. Meaning total. It would get parked in a field that was in a flood plain. It would go totally underwater in the spring-come October or so we.d haul it in to the shop-see if it was stuck or…
How did he save it? Because flat track.
You ride motorcycles?
A buddy had a Prius (2010 ish?) I couldn’t believe when it started beeping when backing up. Thats when I knew they were made for stupid people. “ I put the car in reverse 2 seconds ago—i need a reminder why we are moving towards the rear.”
How about the rescue people-How much danger do they deserve to be put in needlessly?
Only 25k miles (On the dyno)
