A buddy (an engineer) had ties with the outer fringe of an F1 team. He was telling of the amount of engineering went into every bolt. Rather than have the valve cover held down with a nominal sized 6mm thread size, they somehow figured 5.8 mm would be better. And this bracket over here would get a 5.6 mm bolt etc.

Any kind of technical advancement comes from either war, space travel or racing.

I wanna know what kind of sand they have down there that can hold a back wheel off the ground on a centerstand.

How do you strap down the rear with it up against the wall like that? And where does the exhaust go?

Oh great-its out over water. That means the dockworkers union will find some way to totally fuck it up.

I’ve worked in the auto machine biz for many years. I had to get into a very early 6.9 (predecessor of the 7.3.) That motor -and 7.3's looked just like International guts in a 460 Ford block. Obviously thats not the total case-but you could easily see the DNA of both. I’d say its more of a joint venture than one

I like the toe of the boot. (Thats where we camp.)

I bet you have a really strong right leg.

How about the NHRA US Nationals on Monday?

You should get a job here.

This was a door off my race car. The legs are old nerf bars.

When you race, you get all kinds of parts piled up. I had a bunch of sheet metal left over from a reskin. And I had a borrowed sheet metal bender in the shop taking up space. So I made up a few oil/spray can/paper towel racks.

They are a whole food group to me.

I remember reading years back when Plymouth disappeared. There was one remaining stand alone Plymouth dealership. (In Maine? I think). For the last 2 years, all they had to offer was Neons. (and I suppose Prowlers).

Wouldn’t you like to work in Red Bull’s “new stupid shit to try” department?

I suppose I’m lucky. I’ve been wrenching for more than 40 years. And my hands are in decent shape. I still can’t work with gloves. And this whole “you know that shit can kill you” attitude is pretty recent. I worked many years in auto machine shops. The stuff they clean with nowadays is nowhere as good (or toxic)as

So where does one buy a used Tesla motor-and Volt batteries? Pretty new stuff-how much does you think all that costs?

I can’t find the pic (but they do exist) of a big bike drag race at Atco ,NJ. (88?89?) Malcolm Forbes and his “Capitalist Tools” bike gang? of richies on Harleys (this was back when Harley riders weren’t your next door neighbor-they were bad ass bikers) decided to ride down from NY. And when you are super rich, you

Ok-I’ve done 100's of dyno pulls-both as a customer + operator, I have never seen a loopitie loop at the end of the pull like that graph shows. You don’t gain 1o hp in 100 rpm. A line never just goes straight up. So I wouldn’t trust that finally number. That being said, the trend of the graph shows that power was
