Guess you just have to build your own.

Right. If you don’t want a grill, don’t mold the front end so it looks like there should be one there.

I’m on your side Eighty. You get it or you don’t. I had to replace my MkII in a hurry-a TDI was the obvious choice. All I found on CL in a 2 hour range had 300k on them. I found a 97 MB e300 diesel at a price I couldn’t say no to as a hold over.

It won’t do those big structural rivets. I have one-works ok if you have the room. Good for 1/8" + 3/16" rivets.

No plans to go with a PD. 99-03 only. I’m not new to the game. I have over 250k miles on 2 veg powered cars over 10 years. (and a veggie fueled furnace in the garage.) Also built a couple more for other. Yes-done wrong you can screw things up-but I can say the same thing about turbos. I saw someone put a turbo on

The problem is I live in New England. Any native ones are complete rot outs. I went to look at one for $2000-and before I got within 50 ft of it, I could see the bottom of the passenger seat—from the drivers side!

That was the original plan before I found this kit. (I’m coming off a Mk11 that I had to retire at 410k miles.) Price would be about the same-but the Mk4 has more legroom and better handling.

He’s from Vermont. Its got to be a Subaru. Its the law.

You saved me a bunch of typing-exactly this. Props for keeping the place so clean and organized.

This WILL be my next car. I found out about these about 3 months ago. Already in the planning stage. And most importiantly, got the wife’s ok.

Ok-heres another outcome. You keep it. You drive it a 1000 miles the first year after you get the new car. Only 400 the next year. The batteries dead the next time you go to start it. It sits a year un-used. You start to notice rust forming around the wheel arches. ( I know you kept it nice-but it IS a Subaru.) A kid

Soooo....the tragedy is a missed connecting flight? Budda must be pissed at them.

COTD for those who know.

I hate to say it-but it makes the dog look douchey.

I THINK —ain’t sticking for this “driver”—he ran down the inside-braked too hard-it twitched + he stayed on the brakes. Luckily the other dude saw it coming + was slowing down fast-let the shit happen in front of him.

And no blinker-wtf?

Wow-I never knew there were so many ways to adjust a mirror.

I like how well prepared you are with your pack of spares.

It might be fun with a Hayabusa motor in it.

well—did you notice the red engine on the stand in the vid? That was the 403-with a homemade FI plenum intake on it. He didn’t just go the easy way out first.
