I would think having the name Supernatural on it allows the producers to garner profits. I would also think any Supernatural like the books or the comics or the anime would garner them profits as well but I really don't know but it would make sense to me. As an aside, I keep hoping that Jared and Jensen become

It might be worse, but the point is that they are smart and want to save people and save the world, just like soldiers and cops.

Thank you! I was thinking about this too.

Carrier pigeon

It's not an unreasonable question nor pearl clutching to expect that answer in the pilot. They went to the trouble of pointing out that these uber powerful families have been operating in secret, then it's reasonable for the audience which would largely be the current SPN viewers to expect an explanation about how

Oh man. Now I want September to show up.

Dean wasn't having tea and nice chats. He tortured and interrogated monsters trying to find Cas. And he was friends with Benny so I would imagine somehow he got wind of these five uber powerful Chicago monster families. Agree to disagree on that point.

Yep, Sam and Dean were in it to draw viewers. That's it.

Yeah hard to say. It seems like it's mixed reviews at best and the bump could be a factor of idle curiosity and/or that it's so close to the end of the season that viewers needed to know what was going with Sam and Dean and this seasons storylines. I read somewhere else the idea that this in an alternate universe

I don't find it acceptable that they were so well hidden from a network of hunters because reasons they don't explain. And not explaining it in the pilot was a mistake. I can accept that Sam and Dean didn't know, but even that one is hard because Dean spent a year in Purgatory with these same kinds of monsters and he

It's the basic premise of Supernatural though. Hunters vs monsters. You can't hand wave that away like Dean magically losing the Mark of Cas after being raised from Perdition. Or what happened to the Samulet?

Just explain it! I'll hate it the explanation because I love the shapeshifter lore in SPN just as it is, but at least don't think that current SPN viewers that you want to follow over to Bloodlines are going to not notice these things.

I really don't think I (and a whole lot of other viewers) are over thinking this.

I can only hope that having the Supernatural name attached reaps OUR Supernatural lots of money to finance the 10th season and let the boys have a good sendoff.

That doesn't mitigate that he had the intellect to figure it out. It wasn't a magical or divine intervention solution.

He figured out how to track every angel and where to find people in heaven. I'm pretty damn sure he'd figure out there was something squirrely going on in Chicago. Never mind that many hunters did network. Being a computer geek was not mutually exclusive from being a deep in the heart hunters.

At least that episode ended up directly tied into the story of MIB and Jacob.

I'm sorry I just can't buy it.

Yes Eliot Ness was a hunter. Man I LOVED that episode

They actually did film the episode in Chicago
