Oh Grimm is much worse but it established the creepy and gruesome factor in like the first couple of episodes. I think that's why it was so surprising for Arrow to do it, because they've not really been going for the gruesome and macabre like Grimm does.

Oh believe me I mocked the CW and hated them for canceling Angel. I didn't even watch SPN because I was so bitter about the Angel cancellation (which also had great actors). Even as bad as Smallville's writing became they did pretty well with most of the actors. I've had a change of heart about CW in general…
