Great tip! Better than the way I've been doing it with yellow plastic reusable trash bag ties.

A towel and a meat mallet work too. Put the peppercorns in the towel and crack them with the mallet (or hammer). Awesome when you want the pepper crusted steaks.

A good reminder to go into Twitter, Facebook and/or Google accounts to see what is authorized and do some house cleaning.

Nice and so you don't pull your hair out looking for the app in your drawer....it's called "Album".

I just add that as another email address to the original contact. Since it uses an email, you can combine that with some really crazy things with If This Then That (ifttt.com). For instance a SMS for a county emergency I get can also send me a tweet, a high priority email and numerous other things to get my attention.

Throw in GVMax into the mix for even more fun ([www.gvmax.com]). GVMax will monitor your GV account for new SMS or voicemails and notify you in a number of ways. I use it to tie in Google Voice into the standalone Google Talk client. Since GTalk is XMPP compliant, you can use any XMPP standalone IM client to

I've used it as a poorman's dock by adding a USB hub underneath and keeping the cables tidy. Just unplug the hub and power cord and run with the laptop!

For my laptops I use a thin piece of veneer and some PVC plumbing caps that are pop-riveted to the veneer. The caps have a flat end and the open end fits the feet of the laptop to keep it from sliding. Glue some felt on the bottom and you can use it in your lap. I use Readability which seems to work well.....any advantages to using Instapaper over Readability??? Seems hard to justify using another service especially since Readability will send articles to my Kindle Touch (eInk) and has plug-ins for browsers and built-in sharing in my Android.

You could do that. In my case I'm using WidgetLocker on Android which is a replacement lock screen that can be customized. I have some contact info added to the clock widget they offer.

Your chance of getting that one person who would return it is like 1 in a 1000. A study by Symantec with some supposedly "lost" phones they dropped showed that 96 percent of those phones found had the apps accessed. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want some stranger looking through my data, making purchases on

No bottle opener built in? Useless IMO.

I use a combination of both local and Google Music. I'd be willing to bet half my large library of music is not available on any "rent" type streaming services, so that is out. I love the concept of having all my music in the cloud so I can access it in places such as work or a friend's house. Streaming while mobile

Doh! You're right.....still useful. I've never used it since I have all the mentioned services Dropbox is the best for syncing among everything....at least for me.

Amazon Cloud Drive does have a syncing app for Windows and Mac: [www.amazon.com]

Throwing in another thought if you are using a cable modem: I had weird problems too where it seemed the Internet would just go dead and sometimes resetting the router/modem fixed the problem. In this case I had a cable modem from my cable TV provider. The signal entering the house was split between several TVs and

First +1 for the header graphic :)
