Be sure to check out all the add-ons and the templates. They add some great functionality to LibreOffice.

Depends on how you look at it. If you get it at a discount now as a student, then what do you do down the road when you need the next version and are out of school? Also LibreOffice is available on a variety of platforms so I can use it not only on my Windows machines, but also on my Linux machines. Also it takes up

It really depends...1/2 my family on there never post anything at all. It was a dig really since I do use FB, but it's my least favorite social media.

The Internet as a whole might not be making us dumb, but Facebook is.... :P

I was given an ad supported Kindle as a gift and though about paying the $30 for the upgrade, but actually some of the ads for Amazon stuff have been useful for cheap reads and more so I decided to stay ad supported for now. Something to think about and they really don't get in the way of using the thing.

Your only backing up the directory where the VMDK files reside, so it is only as large as your virtual machine. For instance before I upgraded Ubuntu from 11.04 to 11.10 I copied the whole virtual machine directory to another location and that was about 5 Gigs. Not too big. If the install went bad (which it didn't) I

Poorman's snapshot in VMWare Player - Backup (or rename) the directory where you have your virtual machines (.vmdk files). Not as good as a snapshot, but works.

Depends on the host machine. I'm running VMWare player on a 2Ghz dual core laptop with 4 Gigs of memory. Seems everything runs just fine and I can flip back and forth between Win7-64 (the host) and the guest OS (Ubuntu 64 most of the time).

Friends - Charge them what real tech support charges them.

Nope. The standalone Android App lets you save songs on your Android device to play offline, but that's it. So it's not quite a good backup solution. You can delete them, but that's it.

Ooooo...never thought of that. I do know that they have a problem with not only Google Music, but also syncing over to a Blackberry when I carried one and over to Banshee I'm running on a Linux machine. It's always the same lists. Might have to check how many songs are in them.

You get the upgrade from 5 Gigs to 20 Gigs if you purchase one full album.

Couple of things to note. If you import your whole iTunes library it brings over all the metadata, play counts and ratings (although Google only has thumbs up/down). This is a one time thing. If you add songs after the mass upload, none of the iTunes specific metadata like the play counts or ratings travels up. If you

Google Music will not sync smart playlists. Also there is a bug in iTunes it seems because I've had other pieces of software that import everything from iTunes also miss a few lists (Banshee in Linux for example). It seems to be that is misses some older playlists (I've been using iTunes since the beginning). Maybe

The app is currently on sale this week for $0.99 at Amazon's app store.

This also works great in reconstituting dried chiles since it can hold boiling water. Just fill up with your favorite chiles, pour hot water over plunge down a bit and when you are done pour off the water (saving some if you are making a sauce/salsa in a blender of course).
