So here’s what I want to know - Mobsters have doctors that don’t talk when they have to treat a bullet wound. Do people at a certain level have watchmakers that will service your stolen watch and not talk? Because you can’t just take a purloined Patek into one of their boutiques if there’s an issue with it, because

Yea, we had a 2008 GTI. Put over 100K on it, was my wife’s daily driver for most of the time we had it, then I used it as a daily when she got a new 4 series (traded in my A4). Loved it. Really only got rid of it because at the time we had two 2 door cars and it was at times a little rough if we wanted to schlep two

Username checks out.

Now playing

Last DJ and Highway Companion are both really great records.

Maybe because it’s at the top of my mind as it was released 51 years ago this week, but Allman Bros, At Fillmore East would be high on my list.

I would add Wildflowers to this list.

Probably his white with black vinyl top ‘69 Cutlass.

I live in Southern CA and work for a company that’s based in PHX. Also we have family in the PHX area. The desert is no joke in the summer, man. I was just there for work for a couple days and other than the time we spent at Top Golf in the shade with misting fans, was inside. I still drank triple the amount of water

Depends.  I pick my time and never have to wait more than like 10 minutes.  7p or after on a Friday is usually pretty good and when we’re done doing our shopping.  On top of the savings per gallon, I also have the Costco Citi card which gives me 4% cash back (also any other top tier station) so THAT adds up even

I’m a CA native and grew up going to grade school in the 70's.
Your friends’ stories are 100 percent correct. There were days we had to stay inside the entire day because the smog was so bad - this was in Santa Clara Valley. My first “real” job was in the summer of 1984 working for a construction company. Things were

Mid/late 80's Honda Civics, obvs.

Yea, my wife’s car has never had the front plate on it (4 series) and cops don’t seem to care. Even when I drive it - knock on wood. I have to be honest, I’m not entirely sure where TF the front plate even is. Might be in the trunk, I guess.

I mean.. They’re pretty unattainable (at least brand new) for most folks.  170 large for a car is quite a bit..

MAGA troll.

That’s not a thing, MAGA troll.

I agree. I’ve had many a Kia and Hyundai rental and even those are pretty good. But based on the over-abundance of reports from people and their interactions with the dealerships, it puts me off putting one on a possible list of cars.

It’s not as bad as it used to be. Particularly since they started really being hard nosed about gate checking bags so no one should have more than one bag for the bins or one that won’t fit. Like I said for the MOST part, the plane winds up being boarded front to back. So the overhead bins generally get loaded that

Southwest is generally pretty good about this, particularly when they know it’s a full flight.  I see them gate check bags pretty regularly.  Also, since most of the time the plane tends to fill front to back as people board (except for those of us that want to sit in the exit row when available) it’s not that bad.
