I think that's supposed to be an elderly, obese Black Cat. Still a clever call-out, Balmut.

That seems about right. In Japan, 15 is the traditional age to start piloting mecha/discover your magical destiny/join an elite group of military hardasses.

Notice the Queen Industries container? Maybe Green Arrow will be in the game.

Jolyne Kujo, RX-78 Gundam, an Attack on Titan vignette... how has this post about latte art managed to make me grin more than anything else today?

The sale price is for a digital copy of the game. Amazon is selling Steam keys.

I'd say such slovenly students deserve some School Food Punishment.

I've watched the entire series, and somehow I never noticed this. Innocuous, yet bizarre! As if Riker couldn't be any more awesome.

Like Mr. Sava, I felt the episode was about the process of creating Adventure Time— or more generally, media in its vein. A mix of great animation, great music, lighthearted-but-meaningful dialogue, and a pinch of melaoncholy— this is AT firing on all cylinders.

I kind of have to agree. This is the first time in a while I've watched an AT episode and felt "meh" afterwards. Nothing particularly creative going on, just characters running on autopilot. Still worth watching, but not up to the high standards the AT staff have set for themselves.

Seconded. Shepherd's Dog is full of terrific tracks and Carousel is certainly one of my favorites.

Jake's sad "my kids don't need me anymore" face…

I thought it'd been a long time since I'd seen Hot Dog Princess on Adventure Time. She must be on loan.

Saying this game is a "case-study in unnecessary game violence" is entirely missing the point. It's not unnecessary. It's full of intent. The violence contrasts with one's initially idyllic impression of Columbia and complements the ugly reveal of hardline racism.

I'm in that camp too, Pumpkin. I love Futurama and Bender, but Jake's voice combines all the best qualities of a laid-back dude and a magical-dog-best-friend. You can't beat that. His natural, meandering, pally way of talking is a big part of what makes Adventure Time such amazing comfort food— even at its most

So the Grumps are now featured in a Kotaku article. Who now knows what seeds of horror and hilarity have been sewn?

I remember Hayter once claiming he drank a lot of whiskey and smoked a lot of cigarettes to prepare for voice-work as Snake. He could have been joking, but a difference in habits like this might account the difference between the two men's voices.

Big Boss's prosthetic arm at the end of the trailer looks very similar to Zadornov's from Peace Walker, straight down to the bright red color. (although it's a left arm, rather than a rightie).

I agree with what you're positing about the mutants, but it seemed to me (when watching the episode Jake the Dog) that the Lich was created by the bomb, not the other way around.

I just finished reading Steven King's The Stand, myself. I shuddered a little when Marcy sneezed on Simon's face.
