And lets not forget insurance, when I bought my e36 328i my insurance was around $800/yr, same year M3 was $2300/yr.

As much as I love the E39 M5 they are insane high maintenance cars, I doubt any young family would want to cope with that, why not a rock solid 528/530 probably half the purchase price, and 1/4 the maintenance costs.

And bang for your buck they can't be beat, the 1050i is still cheaper new than most 600cc 'jap bikes' and you can pull 400 miles in a day and still walk. when you get off.

You have excellent taste in motorbikes, I had a 1050i myself, one of the best road going bikes out there, they do not get the love they deserve.

Fiero?? I used to work at a tire shop and I had a 6' 4" coworker, he physically could not drive a fiero, it wa sa 5 speed and he could no way operate the clutch. He even tried with eh door open and his knee sticking out..

BMW also should start selling their more fuel efficient models here in the US, we only get the premium gas-hog models, why no 320, how about a 116d , maybe a 730i, that might help too..

Ahh the rare vs. desirable debate.. Of course a non-wagon version can be had for under $10k. Of course you can get an e39 m5 for abut the same, or for the $30k they want why couldn't you get an E60 v10?

Look again.. the base 2wd Gran Cherokee is FRONT wheel drive.

It's simple.. the rear diff is hard mounted uni-body and has CV shafts going to the wheels. (like an IRS setup would).
