I agree with 99% of what you’ve said. The only thing I take slight issue with is the characterization that the smear the accuser is a modern tactic. It’s a tale as old as time.

I’d like to give you an internet hi five.

Dude, RIGHT? This part made me roll my eyes so hard:

I mean, did you read the article? Because they quite literally say that being able to attend court hearings is an issue for incarcerated women.

Are you sure about that? If they did, then there wouldn’t be the issue of incarcerated mothers not being able to attend dependency hearings.

There absolutely needs to be more programs in prisons!

Here in California, they will transport incarcerated parents to the dependency hearings. I believe it’s their absolute right to be present and the law requires them to be transported. I can’t believe other states don’t do this.

I lost my grandma earlier this year, so I empathize.

What shitty things has she done? (I’m not defending her, I honestly just don’t know much about her, other than she’s never really spent much time her her asshat father)

Dude, I so feel you. These days I’m already irritated by the time I get to the comments because the Jez reporting is just so BAD.

I think I’m just sensitive to this issue. You weren’t being a jerk and I’m sorry for getting defensive!

I work in criminal defense and 99% of our clients are indigent (we take cases that the PD has to conflict on.) I don’t see the “lawyers who couldn’t get other jobs” in my profession. When you work criminal defense, all the cards are stacked against you. When you compound that with a poor client and county panels that

Public Defenders don’t suck. They are overwhelmed and underfunded, however, but they are not shitty attorneys.

She literally said that they’ll be offering the line up to size 40 as soon as they can. So maybe hold off on the outrage.

That man can wear the fuck out a sweater

I mean, she’s also rich and famous?

I would bet real money that this is all staged for press.

Is this as close as Jez comes anymore at attempting to be feminist? Because this is a fail.

I’d lower the waist line (why so much bulk there?) drop the hem to about her knee and give it all a good pressing, because this looks like a crumpled ass mess.

The hands are actually more of a nod to Victorian fashion. The clasping hands were especially popular with the Victorians.
