Chris Cillizza.
Yeah I was confused by that. If it was a rental, then how would she be able to sell it? She wasn’t the owner.
Seriously. I mean, I can imagine she’d be a stressful boss, but so is every high-powered public figure. And the hair comment is basically “I liked her better when she was younger and prettier.”
I’m already living this dream individually, but I would definitely be up for scaling it.
This is also going to be her peak as a “princess.” WARNING: UNPOPULAR GROUCHY COMMENTS TO FOLLOW. DO NOT READ IF YOU’RE NOT UP FOR IT. Remember when everyone was obsessed with Kate Middleton and her long flowy hair, when she too quit her job to marry a prince, and her outfits were crashing websites? Now she’s just…
He was, but now it’s Dakota.
Looks like he’s dating Dakota Johnson, though...
Whenever I hear that women “can’t have it both ways,” I check to see if it’s something men already have both ways on. It usually is.
Yes, that language was totally condescending and invalidating of her. I also have to point out the bullshit in Biden praising Hill’s “bravery for coming forward” when she was SUBPOENAED. Her only other options were to ignore a senate subpoena or lie under oath (and say that Thomas never harassed her).
Personally I wouldn’t be into it, and I think that’s all that matters. You don’t need a poll. Are you turned on or off? That’s all you need to know. Your dating and sex life are not run by a democratic process!
And probably the sewing machines too!
Yep, I have exploded some male brains in the same types of conversations: “I mean, I’m sure there are women who have never been harassed or assaulted...but personally I don’t know any.”
“This is difficult for many men to accept”—I think that’s a major part of men’s denial and stonewalling. The volume and severity of sexual assault and harassment, particularly of women, strains the limits of comprehension even for me, a woman who has been through it myself. I’m not saying that men get a pass for not…
People with addictions and mental health problems are also often targeted for assault. They’re vulnerable and their stories are less credible to others.
That’s the same advice for finding a life partner!
And “putting a rapist in jail” is so rarely a realistic outcome anyway. Taking the money is especially understandable when no other justice is going to happen.
All of this, and also: if the only remedy available to you after an awful violation is money, then is it reasonable to accept money rather than get nothing? Yes/no—either answer is valid. People sue for “pain and suffering” all the time, and that’s the premise.
I’m interested in people’s answers to Tarantino’s rhetorical question: “what was I supposed to do?”
So much for that excuse that his hands just end up in the wrong place due to the wheelchair! The prelude he did with this woman, commenting on her looks and singling her out, make it clear that this is 100% intentional. Shame on him and on everyone who’s excusing this.
