Sorry that I didn’t notice that it was an old article. It popped up somewhere in the last few days, so I read it without noticing the date. Oops.

I don’t know you so I shouldn’t care, but I really think that you should seek out some help. You sound like a really miserable person. I hope that your life gets easier and you start to feel better about your place in it. Sincerely.

Actually, The Dolly Parton Imagination Library provides one free book per month per child in the US, Canada, UK, and Australia. That’s a distribution of over one MILLION books per month, over three continents. Dolly also announced this evening that the Dollywood Foundation will provide $1,000 per month to each family

Wow. You have created an entire argument in your head that simply does not exist. I have never seen anything quite like this. Are you okay?

Because people enjoy getting some insight into the personal lives of artists and the sources of their inspiration. Their work speaks for itself.

So, only “good” people should be the subjects of films? That would be pretty boring.

Well, considering that this took place in Las Vegas in December and had nothing to do with the South, I would be careful about calling other people out on their “outrage with no basis in any reality whatsoever.”

Haha! Well, the first one was the Graduation Panic Spouse. You know, when you marry whoever you happen to be dating at the time of your college graduation because you have no clue what the next step in your life should be and you just can’t face the next few years of living in shitty apartments, eating sad instant

I’m always sort of surprised when someone complains about the zillions of weddings that they feel obligated to attend. In the 15 years since my college graduation, I have only been invited to, maybe, five weddings and three of those were for the same person. And it’s not that I don’t have friends. It’s just that most

You’re a gem. You really are a gem.

I’m not saying that this means anything one way or the other, but I could have sworn that I saw a video of some sort, like 10 years ago, where Maddox said that she was a virgin when she met Jimmy Page. She was telling that story about how Jimmy Page’s body guard kidnapped her, took her to the Riot House, and when they

We must be soulmates, you and I.

I call these “old people catalogs” and they’re my absolute favorite. They NEVER change. Also see: Carol Wright. Seriously. They sell the very same things as they did in the 80s, when I used to pore over them out of both fascination and boredom when I was stuck at my paternal grandmother’s house. They even use the same

She could get very punchy. She was the best. :)

When I was a child in the early 80s, I was forced to go to attended a Baptist church in the south and there was a boy named Cale in my Sunday school class. I’m pretty sure his mom had never heard of kale, the vegetable. And my grandma once said, “Why did she name him after the only vegetable that makes you fart more

I love this video and have seen it a hundred times, but I cannot watch it. If I watch one single Stevie Nicks video, I must commit to sacrificing five or six hours of my time to the Stevie Nicks Youtube Rabbit Hole. I am powerless to escape. I have lost so many nights that way. Worth it, but not sure I should let it

I just got a season pass for Christmas and I’m STOKED! I’m from Knoxville, so it’s not a far drive for me to go, but this is the first time I’ve been in 23 years. I grew up going there every year, but just got busy with adulting at some point and forgot to go. I went last week and all the Christmas stuff was great.

So glad to hear it! And, yes! The cost of living is bananas! My brother lives in Nashville and he’s moving back here because he can buy a house for 1/3-1/4 of the Nashville price. I don’t know how we got so lucky. All this beauty, cheap living, friendly, open-minded people, there’s always some awesomely bonkers event

Welcome to your new home! We’re so glad to have you here. I’m thrilled that you’ve had a good experience. I agree with you that there are lots of very progressive and brilliant people here. Stereotypes just don’t hold up in Knoxville. And I might be biased, but I’m fairly certain that it’s one of the prettiest places
