Weird though thay my be, they are apparently indestructible. Any classic car meet (basically a bunch of folk trying to justify there dreadful lack of fiscal responsibility to others whose predilections are alarming similar) in the UK will have at least one Trojan in attendance. At the risk of self parody, I had one

Michael, I know it’s hard to sometimes get content on line as quick as possible, but you’re missing something between the second and third paragraphs. There’s no explanation of the “he” in paragraph three, it just jumps into ‘he saw them’, and not ‘white shaft saw them’, or “captain maga saw them” or anything.

I dont get it.....AM did the reseach and is stating their findings. The data said that an vast majority of women want ___x___ so they designed to ___x___.

Sorry Deadspin, but in the US soccer world, ur only slightly better than TMZ.

The article is really dumb, but I’m glad it exists if only so that you had the opportunity for this gem.

It’s not journalism

England manager Phil Neville saw neither of these as viable understandings of what happened and instead decided to use his postgame interview to chide Cameroon—who, remember, England had just beaten by three goals—for not keeping their composure.

Neville could at least be justified in his frustrations if his

Davey was my best and only friend from k-6th grade and really gave credence to the final words in the movie Stand By Me, “I never had any friends later on like I had when I was 12.” Rather, I am 43 now and I still have never found a friend quite like him later in life. Sadly I will never get to tell him face to face

This comment is below you.

Deadspin shifts their faux morality to embrace Barstool culture whenever they see fit. If the Russian team had done this to Jamaica, for example, there would be a 70,000 word scolding think piece shat out overnight.

“I think, as a Canadian, we would just never ever think about doing something like that

Until Sweden plays Thailand and beats them 12-0.

I always thought the proper term was “gel” not “jell”. Am I wrong? Has my whole life been a lie?

Never forget their sacrifice

This cannot be your argument here unless you also agree with the Track and Field ruling prohibiting Caster Semenya from competing: we can't just say that rules are rules so it must be fair.

As Parker Molloy noted in a thread responding to the tweet above, there exists a bundle of right-wing websites whose only interaction with D-II track and field comes when Telfer succeeds.

The IAAF has rules that handles the case of Caster Semenya, but Deadspin and several of its commentors have been railing against that since that decision was made. So what is it? Is it the governing bodies rules, and too bad for those who oppose it, and those that appeal it are bigoted dicks, or is this more nuanced

The IAAF regulations currently don’t allow Caster Semenya to compete because she happens to have naturally high testosterone. “Those are the rules” is an Appeal to Authority that holds no weight, whether you agree with them or not. The discussion is about what the rules should be.

My reading of it, based on the general tone of the article, is that not being in favor of trans athletes competing against women is considered oppressing.

I’m all for sticking it to hypocritical conservatives, and I’m all for leaving people the hell alone and letting them be whomever they feel they are. However, this relatively new dynamic of trans-women competing in women’s sports is pretty much the greyest of grey areas.
