I’d also say that if McLaren was willing to just do a second run of actual F1's, I’d be very appreciative of that too. It was obviously good enough not to require an improved version, and as time has worn on, its virtues have become even more apparent (which of course is Murray’s point with the T.50 as well).

My black Countach bookfair poster is still on my wall in my parent’s house!

Yup! Got me an F40, and a really bad-ass black Countach from my own book fair back in the late 80's or early 90's. The Countach was actually a nice acquisition, as it had already been upstaged at that point by the better, but not-as-fun-to-look-at-on-a-poster Diablo.

Helmet proponents are right about one thing: If you’re in a serious accident, then wearing a helmet makes the odds of a head injury significantly lower — by somewhere between 15 and 40 percent. Though a lot more convincing than the Fiero/Ferrari replicas without stretched frames, there’s still no question that you look at this and go “something’s up with that.” I’ve never understood this genre. Built-from-scratch replicas like A/C Cobras and GT40's I totally get, but not fake Ferraris.

The car is over $90 grand. Not saying it’s not worth it, but how is this the epitome of “democratization of speed” as you say?
