They don’t (yet) make high speed trains in Sacramento. They currently make conventional diesel-electric passenger locomotives and passenger cars, like the trains used by Brightline in Florida and Amtrak. The screwed up part is how many European and Japanese train companies build factories here due to “Buy American”

Wow, I never even thought or looked at this. But the Prius Prime is right around 3mi/kWh and the Rav prime is around 2.3mi/kWh. Has to be something with the terrible weight/shape of the Wrangler, right?

Lots of people can do a sizable portion of their daily commutes in 21 miles of EV. I do. And then when you’re out of juice, you still have a hybrid that does pretty well in city driving. Highway MPGs tend to be just as lousy as an ICE vehicle, though.

We do that occasionally, there are even folks that make a living brokering sales between dealers, and new overstock.

Nobody buying a Wrangler cares about efficiency.

Few co-workers of mine have the 4Xe Wrangler. There was a local dealer for a while between state/fed tax rebates and dealer incentives loaded 4xe was cheaper than a low-option gasser. So, everyone went out and bought them. Can’t blame them. So far, normal Jeep stuff. Lots of little issues but nothing that keeps em

A bit of a strange decision. I’m guessing they really are wanting to sell more I4's and fewer V6's, possibly for for CAFE reasons. Though maybe they are testing the waters to see for the people buying the V6/auto combo what’s more important to them the V6 or the auto?

I don’t think many will mourn the loss, to be honest. Our take rate for the base sport is pretty high, and when we get them they are gone in 2 weeks tops, but it has more to do with the price and stickshift than the windows and doors. To get power doors and locks you had to pick the Sport S trim, forcing you to pay

I’d guess based on the fact that most articles they run nowadays are more about “Screw the Police” or “Screw the Rich” than actual cars that the day is nigh...

Topgear, Autoblog and Jalopnik was my order for automotive sites every morning and evening.  That really sucks.

I hope the garage is wide enough. 4C is so unnecessarily wide.

Wait, this is Jalopnik!

I’d hesitate to ride in SF.  Between the tourists, distracted drivers and Teslas on autopilot (apparently sometimes doesn’t see motorcycles), it’s just a recipe for injury or worse

Living in SF and already have one car? The answer is:

You mean the concepts of a plan.

In other news, Jeep discovers the cause of the problem is the dumpster fire at Stellantis HQ.

Ford would like a word with you about your plan...

GM and Hyundai working together sounds like a Win-Win to me -- Hyundai has tremendous experience in EVs and GM has the North American market and production capacity. As long as the South Koreans convince GM that CarPlay is a must have going forward...
