There is an old saying, You “build the church for Easter”.(i.e. peak demand).

Already, a PHEV qualifies for the full $7500 rebate because the battery is big enough. It’s a Pacifica, but this makes the Pacifica PHEV cheaper than the Pacifica non-hybrid.

You picked the wrong hybrid. Toyota’s hybrids are much better for their non-body on frame offerings.

I'll bet I'll see this thing soon outfitted like a brodozer. At $4800 some it'll be hard for some highschool kid to resist and there are plenty of places in the valley that will loan you money for a lift, wheels and tires.

The result is having to play with broken toys, already filled-in Mad-Libs, and dealing with clothes that are frustratingly worn to someone else’s body shape.

I owned a 2000 Expedition XLT 4.6 for 16 years. Besides regular maintenance, the only issues that I had were front end wheel bearings and the ABS module which I had rebuilt for $175.00. Gas mileage was not great but it was very comfortable on our road trip to and from Montana from SoCal.

Nicely kept and (despite reason to think the seller might be one of the various sorts of used-car hustlers who work the by-owner side of Craigslist: https://sacramento.craigslist.org/search/cta?purveyor=owner&query=%227.3.1.5.%22#search=1~gallery~0~0) not priced like the crown jewels. NP in this market if the usual

Man, I forgot how bad that era of interior plastics was... But honestly it's a NP.  Ugly as hell, and that price will get its revenge at the pump, but decent first car material here.

I just sold a 2007 with similar miles for $4500.

NP.
I had the same truck in green for years, and it asked for very little beyond maintenance and the occasional coil pack replacement. It did drink fuel, but I was aware that it was a 5200 pound 4x4, so that wasn’t surprising.
With simple care, those can be very rugged, simple, useable vehicles for years.

I have an old worn out 02 Suburban with 266k. I wouldn’t trade it for the world...except this Expedition

A solid, handsome truck in great shape for credit card money? Easy NP.

Hate this generation with a passion. But it’s clean and low miles for what it is. Plus those Michelins will dry rot before you ever wear them out. NP

Easy NP for someone that needs/wants a 2nd or 3rd vehicle for weekend errands and taking the boat to the ramp a few times a year.

Sweet Rig. NP

I suppose the 5.4L, 2 valve V8 is a good one if it’s the original engine.

Not my cuppa, but it’s a NP for those who prefer big, strong, not-so-silent types.

Triton V8. That SOHC eight-valve mill”

When I hear someone rate something 6/10, I think of immortal Trailer Park Supervisor, Jim Lahey. Plus, shiny tires always bode well! NP.

NP not my cup of tea but with the tires worth the money.
