I think Volvo is making some incredibly good-looking sedans and wagons.

Agreed.. but.. Ford and Toyota have been making them for years and the reliability are proven to be as good as their ICE offerings.

When it comes time to replace my wife’s sedan, I think she’d love a Ford Maverick. Even more, I think she’d enjoy the Ford Bronco Sport. I’d like either as a hybrid, with my more frugal tastes. But, they can’t build enough hybrid Mavericks, how are they going to manufacture a Ford Bronco Sport hybrid, or hybridize the

Not sure why they can’t?

Hybrid Baby Bronco (i.e. the Bronco Sport).  It’s built on the same platform as the Maverick and Escape, both of which can be had as a hybrid.  And a much better looking vehicle than the current generation Escape.

I don’t think Ford can replicate the success of Maverick. It was designed to be fuel efficient from the start and sacrifices a lot of truck things in order to achieve that efficiency. It was a success because it is a contrarian gambit; being a small, truck focused on efficiency in a market where buyers demand huge,

As a child of the 70's who spent a lot of time riding in the back of a ‘69 Pontiac Le Mans station wagon that had a roll down window, I wish my Jeep GC had one. Hell even a seperate opening glass like my old Explorer had. Hate that you have to open the whole tailgate to access the cargo area from the rear.

definitely going to be some interesting cross shopping between the land cruiser and a new 4runner. Hard to beat that roll down rear window....

I’m really torn. I’m getting old, so massage seats on a top trim GX is almost as tempting as the roll down rear window on the 4runner.

I’m 6'5" and my F56 Mini has best driving position I’ve found. One other factor to consider is that 3 door/coupes work better because without the extra door, the B-Pillar is much less of an obstacle to get around when the seat is slid back. I find most 4 doors a pain because of climbing around the B-Pillar.

First off… I love this article, and thank you for putting it together!

I’m 6'8". As you’ve said, it’s all about where you’re tall. Mine is mostly torso. Fun story, I have more head room in a two door Mini than I do in a Tahoe.  That said, I own and fit perfectly in a 2016 Honda Accord with a stick shift and no sunroof.

I’m 6'5", and have no problem fitting comfortably in my B8.5 Audi S4. The driver’s seat is almost infinitely adjustable, and in combination with the tilting and telescoping steering wheel, I can get enough legroom so that my knee doesn’t bark too much, and extend my arms rather than feeling as if the wheel is too

I’m 6'3" which is somewhat tall, but falls within 2 standard deviations from the median. I’ve noticed many car reviewers also claim to be 6'3" which is useful when looking for cars to cross off the shopping list.

I’m 6'4" with a tall torso. I test drove a Volvo XC90 and I could not see out of it. The roofline was so low that the headroom was useless.

It really depends on inseam and torso length.

I’m 5'5" but I have a 32 inch inseam.

So I find it very difficult to see over the hood in some vehicles if they have really limited seat adjustments.

I’m 6'4 and recently switched from a ‘14 Focus ST to a 2024 GTI. The GTI has so much more leg and head room (helped because my GTI doesn’t have a sunroof either). There is easily 2 or 3 inches above my head in the GTI where my head would rub on the roof of the ST, and I don’t need to have the seat all the way back

At 6'5" (36" inseam and arm length) Subaru is well fitting for most Japanese cars are not, my Legacy and WRXs worked well for me. NBs are the only Miata I can drive. The school days Fierro was actually my favorite most comfortable small car I have owned. I respect Mini for I feel like they add the extra design and

If you want coupes. So far at 6'3 with a beer gut, I have no issues with any of the Mercedes coupes, they are actually very roomy inside, I don’t feel cramped at all. If you got a spare $160K and are 6'5 I recommend the SL and GT.

Interesting that a lot of these are VAG products. A few Subarus being on here checks out too. I’m a very lanky 5' 11". I’ve had multiple cars where my seat is set all the way back on the rails. In my current VB WRX there is a ton of adjustability and I’m no where near close to the max rearward position.

For drivers? A lot of the time it comes down to seating position. Aside from some small sports cars, most of the time someone is too tall for a car is just because they won’t adjust their seating position. I know a six foot+ guy that used to drive around in an old style mini, and had a classic FIAT Panda. He fitted
