The driving dynamics are due to the wheelbase and axles. Its a win-some-lose-some game. The leaks are unnacceptable but the lifelong jeepers don’t seem to care. My YJ leaked, My TJ leaked, my new JK leaked eventually (although I was able to do a lot to minimize it, and my current TJ toy leaks. It is what it is. I take

Eh, the driving dynamics aren’t that bad, my 2016 JKU would never be mistaken for a Miata, but it’s handling, acceleration, and drivability are in line with most crossovers that I’ve driven.

While I agree with you and would never pay that sort of money... there are people who will.  Just going by economic rules, Jeep may in fact be underpricing the new JL... they could probably offer a $60k+ version and it would still sell.  They are selling one for $51k and may actually be leaving money on the table!

Gotten soft?

It is no surprise that the Wrangler’s driving dynamics suck. It has a solid front axle — great for off-road, horrid on pavement.

factor in depreciation and you’ll be way ahead long term.

And the Renegade!

What does this even mean? You realize when we say “doing well” we’re talking about new sales?

If it’s bigger than a 90's Honda Accord, it is therefore large in the opinion of most Jalopnik writers. Doesn’t help that they love the old Cherokees, so the new Cherokees feel like mammoths - which isn’t a problem for most Cherokee buyers today, who probably don’t care a lick about the old Cherokees.

Considering a Colorado ZR2 is 36k? Definitely ridiculous. I mean, apples and oranges, but if you’re looking at the cheapest for 2 lockers and still get nice things like heated seats...

I was actually in my London office during the 2016 US election and colleagues kept coming by the morning after the vote when it was clear Trump won and asking how the US could have possibly elected him. My answer was that Brexit was forever and thus stupid-er. (They all said “Well, I didn’t vote for Brexit.” And I

Their bread and butter (Wrangler and Grand Cherokee), however, is not cheap as dick.

The Compass’s sales shot way up for 2018 model year because it went from being an utterly crap Daimler-era holdover to an all-new class leader.

Can confirm, family member has a JLUR.

Yeah I didn’t totally get that one either. I saw a Cherokee on the road the other day - didn’t seem any larger than a Sante Fe

Neutral: Britain is pretty hard to predict. Sometimes they do things like vote to keep sovereign like they did with Brexit and sometimes they are cool with being trampled by government like with TV licenses and knife bans.

Love those big hulking things. Love ‘em love ‘em love ‘em.”

The Cherokee and Compass gained more in sales than the Wrangler did. The Renegade and GC are down a bit.

This is the first thing that came up when I Bing’d it:
