You should do an article on VW’s Zwickau factory which went from building the most archaic car in recent history, the Trabant, to now being on the forefront of technology thanks to VW’s upcoming EV plans.

2nd Gear: I think this is a trend that more premium carmakers will see, especially in Europe. They are known for high power or larger capacity gasoline engines, but the bulk of their sales are diesel with better economy but still the cache of a high-end product.

Star for the comment and the name. Keep up the good work Half-cocked Jack the Coiner.

Toyota is rumored to be planning to dump the Sienna too.

Neutral:

That’s great, it starts with an earthquake
Birds and snakes, and aeroplanes
And Toyota’s Camry sales start to fade...

My family sedan has a manual transmission.

California you are required to either have 4WD/AWD or Chains (studded tires are illegal) when going through a mountain pass while snowing or in my case

Ford also dumped mini-vans, compact trucks. How did that go?  Toyota loved those decisions.

Then why are you doing THIS, Toyota?

What’s squeezing Toyota, and every car manufacturer in the US, really, is pretty straightforward. Your average adult under 40 is still paying off student loans, has been dealing with flat wages for almost their entire working career, and is worried about the environment. Buying new probably isn’t even on their radar,

Crossovers and pickups are the new boat-like sedans for the elderly. I swear to God I saw the Cryptkeeper doing 40 in a 65 in a gleaming new F-150 the other day.

Gear 2/Neutral - They should double down on EVs while there is still a chance.

Gear 3 - You made an error here Justin, it is backwards. Cars will be made in US and final assembled in China for the local chinese market. I quote:

Heck that’s not a bad idea. A TRD Avalon was just introduced, and Camry sales have slumped. Nothing else would surprise me at this point ........... I remeber the Camry wagons. Just put some 4Runner TRD Off Road DNA into a newly engineered Camry wagon.  Mmmmm...

Remember when we were all flabbergasted when Ford announced it would stop selling cars outside of the Mustang...........

as the former owner of a 1st gen allroad, this would be a bad move.

Time for the Camry Allroad..

1st - making the ugly probably doesn't help sales either.
