Meanwhile cars (vehicles) are tougher to see out of: higher belt lines, thicker pillars, higher hoods, worse rear visibility... none of the safety standards affect those outside the car.
It will be interesting to see more details on the safety claims at Rivian.

Some schools in the Bay Area are doing this with EV charging beneath. School staff use it during the day; neighbors use it during nights (not the solar part) and weekends.
