I’d rather solve things with pricing. Figure out the true cost (including all of the socialized hidden costs that are impacting society) and bake it into the price. Educate, market, and give folks enough time to make the right decision, like buy the fuel efficient car when the current one gives up the ghost because

Not so sure about that. Work had a plug-in hybrid Dodge Ram eight or so years ago. It was awesome. Took it on road trips, off-road, filled it with gear, firewood, etc. I’d buy one today. Battery prices have plummeted since 2011.
