The MkIII was actually built as a roadgoing GT40. And among variations of this car, the only one less common is the MkIV, which to be fair is almost an entirely different car from the earlier models.

Around 30 or so years ago I ran my car out of gas. There was a 7-Eleven a short walk away that sold gasoline, but I didn’t have a container to put it in. So I bought a quart of Gatorade (back when it still came in glass bottles), drank its contents, refilled it with gas and walked back to my car.
