Yucky. So many really nice cars to be had for that money. This was a bad miss when new, and hasn’t gotten any better over the years. I’d rather have a 2001 Neon.

1st gear - OK we can’t just say the Renault alliance fourteen dozen eleventy times without this...

Totally off topic, but running up that thing would be a bear!

Whoever was operating the camera deserves a raise.

I just realized the Genesis grille looks like a gigantic Cadillac logo. But fortunately their vehicles are too good looking to be confused for Cadillacs.

Then again all the same used car lots all the way from new car dealers down to buy here/pay here joints that are packed with big trucks also have plenty of sensibly cars sized cars too, but the big vehicle madness has manifested at the bottom end of the market too.

Star for using the word gantry.

There’s a reason Interceptors didn’t come from the factory with manual transmissions.

Putting Chevy parts in a Holden defeats the appeal of having a Holden, even if it weren’t legally dicey.

Interesting. And oops, I thought 747 was already retired. Blush.

1st gear: I am also that idiot, perhaps twice as much because how could you possibly decide between pink and turquoise metallics? The answer is obviously both.

Sorry it’s awful and gimmicky, as is every car with two different sets of lights. Except worse because of the oversize grille that’s trying to unite the two sets of lights. And from the back three-quarters it’s so generic you could label the photo “2008 Mercury Milan” and nobody would give it a second thought.

That’s a dumb assumption. Only old farts have AAA, and even if he had it, he knew damn well it would take them at minimum an hour at best to get there. The only thing the poor guy did was underestimate the how much faster things are happening when you’re basically stationary and the flow of traffic isn’t.

Actually thanks KIA’s aggressive pricing plus dealer greed MSRP+++ for killing interest long before Covid.

Fun article.

You could effectively end it by making the driver at fault pay for the damages to other driver’s car and potential winnings for the day.

Cars are expensive. Even cheap cars are expensive when you need to fix them. Trying to save .10 per gallon isn’t worth the risk or the pollution. Stupid idea.

Social Media (aside from posting on Jalopnik) is the root of all evil. I’m ashamed we didn’t all collectively realize this much sooner, we should have known all the Teslastans were being egged on by Teslastanbots.

This is probably the main reason Subaru got a flavor of this one and you’d have to be knucklehead not to take advantage of it. And at least it’s got AWD so in spirit it’s more of a true Subaru (go ahead and hate but I always thought the BRZ was a total cop out for lacking AWD), but the styling is obviously full-on
