What’s the mix of Democrats to Republicans to Independents, though?  If Republicans are dead set against it but they only make up 25% of the country, that means a majority of the country supports it. Splitting support into groups like this without showing an aggregate is misleading.

If the story is “A Song of Ice and Fire” and it has a bunch of large-scale concepts at work in the background I’m going to hope for a big picture revelation about what’s going on. I want to know why the world is the way it is, why magic seems to wax and wane, and what’s behind the cosmic…

I get that it’s a secret and Jon’s continued existence under King Robert’s rule depends on no one knowing Jon’s true parentage, but I don’t understand why it’s such a secret after Robert dies.

I’ve read the books and I’ve seen through season 6, and the only thing I care about is getting an explanation for the weird weather and the cycle of magic waxing and waning.  I assume no one explained why the seasons are all screwed up?
