Where I live, taxi drivers are by far worse than Uber drivers. Unpredictable and illegal driving, stopping wherever they feel like it and blocking traffic, shitty vehicles that reek of cigarette smoke and who knows what else, they are rude (if they even speak English), don’t know where anything is, try to scam you

“Most people acknowledge that these days” - Uh, completely false?

People aren’t supposed to do it full time. It’s a SIDE JOB.

I legit want to know how its possible to have such massive expenses.  Is it all servers and ads?

This is not serfdom.  They are not beholden to any master.  They chose to be freelance drivers.  They chose to use their own cars.  They didn't sign any contracts requiring 9-5 service.

If you’re too drunk for the bus, you’re too drunk for society. Stay home or check in somewhere to get the help you need.

stay sober?

Yes, those are the preferred modes of travel for polka bands.

what about a Plane, and Train and/or an Automobile???

Drive your own car, ride a bike, take a bus/train/trolley, take a cab, borrow a car, rent a car, buy a car, use a carshare service.

You are kinda missing the point of what a rideshare system is. Gas is an honest expense and it does add some to milage but the idea was that Uber or Lyft or whatever was never going to be someones primary job. It was a way for people who already have a vehicle(thus are spending money on insurance, payments, maintance,

The gig economy is designed to turn you into serfs, it’s not worth it. Don’t take these jobs, don’t use these services, they are a downward spiral.

So they are just like the Cab companies then.

That should be on a T-shirt.

They already took away the food. It’s the crap they sell us in place of food that makes us so unhealthy.

Don’t pay attention to 90 percent of “studies”

If I hit 80, I’m tryin’ heroin.

Sure, it takes years off your life. But they’re the shitty years!! My great aunt lived to 92, which was about 20 years longer than it should have been. between the macular degeneration, osteoporosis and dementia, she ended up talkingto her dead relatives, complaining she couldn’t see them.

Just remember that a “21% increase” in the likelihood of an unlikely event such as early death makes it....still pretty damn unlikely. If you have a 0.1% chance of early death, and you drink 2 sodas per day, you now have a 0.121% chance of early death.

Well, Gene from Marketing is just having the best quarter of his entire professional career, isn’t he.
