@Goblin: You said you don't understand what the point is of maxing out the specs... Here is one point: The better specs you get right now in any device has a direct influence on how long that device will be relevant. Make sense now? If you could pick any phone and you need to pick a phone that will last you 2 years,

I'm an admitted Android fanboy but I gotta say if I were choosing here, I would remove the Samsung Nexus S and add the Apple iPad. I'm pretty surprised, given Gizmodo's recent record with pro-Apple bias.

@ZenInsight: I'm with you. Well... I'm thinking MY sweet spot is 4.5" with super thin bezel.

If they put 4G in this and if it has a notification light, I'm sold! Yeah... I realize it is not for sale in the USA :( But knowing phones like this are on the way keeps me from hopping on the Nexus S crapwagon. My trusty Nexus One will just need to hold out for a couple more months.

@veronykah: Hey V - I was referring to how long it took Apple to give cut & paste to all the users clamoring for it. My main concern here is fairness by the reviewer.

IMHO, the author of this article reveals too little knowledge of Android to write a review of Android. He also sounds biased toward the competition.

@jdale: There are quite a few apps out there that will handle syncing if you want it. Including DropBox and WinAmp.

@stryder100: Yeah I love my Nexus One but I'm holding out for the next 4.3" screen Android phone that has more than 3G and more than one core and more than 16GB (you took away our SD card slot!) and now I'm thinking: NOT built by Samsung. Sadness. I will miss the "pure Android" experience afforded by my Nexus One...

@thejonbee: Yep, must be multiple blank screens because I've never seen this happen.

Sad. Part of why I bought my Nexus One in January 2010 was to get the best phone at the time but also a phone that was ahead of the curve enough that it would last awhile. This Nexus S doesn't even support 4G! And I see phone screens getting larger. 4" to me is a bare minimum. I would have liked to see this phone have

So I'm guessing your advice is to wait until Apple produces a phone that uses 4G and THEN move to 4G but until then, more bandwidth is not a good thing?

@Andrew Ball: What do you need 3G for? Why wasn't 2G good enough for you?

@Dimensiation: Isn't 1280 x 800 superior to 1280 x 720? They did say maximum of 1280 x 800. I'm imagining that means it can do 1280 x 720 but the extra vertical space is available for older content that is not as wide-to-tall in it's ratio... ?

Did you really say, "There's a lot riding on this thing"? Drama much?

@enhanced: I use Smart Keyboard and agree with you. Also, I like how you can program word replacement into it. For example, if I type "cuz" it auto-translates it to "because". Over time I have added quite a few words like that, which means now I can bang out a message super fast.

@seishino: Kinda funny how massively increased potential for flexibility can be framed as a negative.

ColorNote is my current fave.
