BTW...the front seats look like they're buckets (or what were called bucket seats back then).

Oh, what that merry bunch of mad scientists and renegades at Pontiac did back then!

When they filmed that road test, I was only 19 miles away, in my 5th-grade classroom (which was a new-that-year, air-conditioned "portable classroom" needed because our school was overflowing).

If these cars are forfeited, then the US Marshals Service (or someone they've designated) will likely auction them.

Where did C&T film those tests? Looks like my old haunt, the Waterford Hills road race course just north of Detroit, which, IIRC, is still there......

Lalo got it right the first time...without the noodling and the drum solos that drone on like a SF politician making a speech.

That "shared platform" would be used by three car brands: Studebaker, Packard...and Clipper, which would have been split from Packard & marketed as a separate brand to (likely) compete against Oldsmobile...with Stude at the low end (vs. Ford & Chevy) and Packard toward the top (vs. Buick).

Where Did Car & Track film their road tests? Hope that plot of pavement still exists some where (& has not been over-run by McMansions).

This was actually the NASCAR Modified & Sportsman race held the day before the 500...note the lack of 1958-60 cars in this race, much less the crash.

Even in 1/32 scale, Steve McQueen is still cooler than you are.

How are they going to handle this?

A '56 Imperial four-door sedan, just like the one my grandfather had when he moved into Sun City back in 1962.

Dialogue is so overrated.

@scotte: Update (posted on the NBC15 website at 3:26 pm CST)....one fatality....

Holy crap!

I say Nice Price, but there may be some hidden demons (i.e. rust) that could turn this into a parts car in nothing flat.

This is a real cop-package Dodge.
