They keep using the word “mall”. I do not think it means what they think it means. 

Depreciation is not high because they are getting better.  It’s high because manufacturers are throwing piles of money on the hood to move old inventory, which causes residuals to plummet.

Given that no weapon was used and apparent lack of substantial injuries this probably amounts to some sort of misdemeanor battery/assault which could be potentially be enhanced under Ala. Code § 13A-5-13(3). It reads:
