Indeed. I'm getting paid while typing this comment!

While Royals players were spraying champagne everywhere, McFadden's owner James McFadden was frantically running around the bar, dumping absorbent powder all over the floor. But, wouldn't you believe, it, not ONE of those assholes that brought a broom into the bar helped clean up the mess.

I don't have to be hungover to do that.

Nah you just go into work and do it really half assed. Thats the american way

Every boss in Kansas City will be calling bullshit on anyone calling out sick today.

In addition to his homer, Hosmer hit a dousble and a trisple.

"most of the adult world" ... Give me a break. Most of the adult world lets people enjoy sports however they want. It's only a tiny portion that feels like they should tell others that they are doing it wrong.

Objectively speaking, the Royals are still in the playoffs. The empirical evidence is irrefutable.

I actually grew up in New England and my father was a truck driver, and for a while when I was about 11 or so, he had a weekly route out to Kansas City and back. In the summer I would go with him sometimes and we went to a bunch of games at (then) Royals Stadium, actually back when they were still pretty good, with

hi, I have all sorts of rules that sports fans need to follow in order to REALLY be a sports fan.

Party on, Wayne!

I am SO incredibly stoked and thrilled. Was all of like 7 years old when they won in 1985...Remember going to the parade and everything. Kept waiting and hoping that we'd go to the playoffs again, but...you know...it never happened...It is like an old love...Lived in DC, loved the O's (really just loved Orioles park

excuse me, did someone say ribs?

Cardinals fans think he didn't show enough respect for the backflip. Didn't do it the right way.

Stealing 3rd was a fine choice. They had to play for a tie there. No tie=game over. Worry about winning later. Having him at 3 allows him to score on a sac fly, (HE DID!) A chopper on the infield, (Something Aoki does a lot and how Hosmer scored a run the prior inning) or a wild pitch/passed ball. (The Royals have

Success doesn't make it the right decision. He could have pulled Shields after 5 and put me on the mound and there would be the possibility I could have finished the game without putting on a base runner (thus making it a successful decision). But that would also be stupid.

Are we not addressing the fact that it was a sac fly that scored him?

eh I disagree-Dyson's SB was worth a 13.3% boost in WPA according to the graph posted earlier. Of course it's a big drop if he's caught but gotta figure he's at least 80% to swipe it. Putting the man on third with one out lets him score on a well placed out and takes the pressure off Aoki to deliver a hit.

TBS was too busy showing idiotic shots of understandably bummed A's players to worry about angles.
