Of the 4 VW power window failures I’ve fixed, none were the motor itself: 3 of the stupid, should-have-been-foreseen regulators(steel cable ‘secured’ by plastic molded around it: duh!), and the fourth was the switch.

I don’t know about an ‘07, but try to get in the habit of turning key all the way to on, pause 2-3 sec, then crank. Earlier VWs could be fussy about fuel pressure: this gives the pump a chance to fully pressurize the system before you crank.
