Yes. You adjust the spark advance manualy. Has a crude form of cruise control. You crank it to start it. The open diff can be a problem, but the large wheels w/ narrow tires make it more capable than many modern soccer-mom SUVs.

Neutral:
In Japan in the late 70s there were cop cars set at various places beside the highway. Manikins and all. Recall one on a concrete block...and a mobile car w/ live policemen in it hiding behind said block. Just mean.
While I kinda hate myself for it, I rather like the rear 5/6 view of the Crosstour-something about that haunch. 280-ish? E-type ?
Wha...? I don’t even know where to start with that...that...
A pink one was prominently featured in several ISpy episodes-I think in Acopoco(sp!). Bill Cosby drove it deep into the bush-looked to be 2wd
The fumes from the kindle would make for an , uh, interesting taste..
Hey! I have a bookshelf rather like that—except it’s in a 82 4-door ‘GTI’
“That’s the 3rd one this year! Gimme the phone, Marge: I’m callin the cops!
Uh, should have said, because safety interlock. Derp!
Family bought a Rabbit LS new in ‘82. Hilariously, the first time I drove it to school I had to push-start it. Damned embarasing for me.
Thanks for the memories, Jason! I bought a bunch of stuff from the Bergs for my ‘68 some 20 years ago. Super nice people to talk to: son(?) took time to swap Westfalia Woes stories with me.
Almost impossible to find now, but the stock alloys from a Peugot 505 Turbo worked perfectly. Or the steelies: my BIL put those on his 85 GL wagon with the Aussie-sourced 4” body lift and made a basket-type roof rack for it. Cool-as-hell!
The coolest part to me was the joystick shifter with push button 4wd on the top. For kicks I used to terrorize an old, steep switchback road on local mountain:
I submit older Subarus as well. I abused/ offroaded everything from an 82 GLF (fwd, but surprisingly capable) to an 87 XT (4-banger: not the auto turbo6).
Was one at Advance Sat. Completely ratty: 2 Cragars, a Keystone(!) and a steelie, vinyl 1/2 gone. Babyshit Brown. But body was straight.
I meant to post last week...
I never see a T-bird w/ out flashing on the local nice-but-crazy-lady’s ‘83 which has the tag JOB ONE. She worked for Ford back in the day... Mind you, only 1 of her windows still works, and the thing smokes, but I give credit for keepin it alive: persistence, NOT brains.
And it’s not just about what’s fastest around the track. I’ve only had auto cars when needed(baby car; free car when down&out) until I bought my first Mercedes 5-cyl turbodiesel.
Epic indeed. Every time I drive my sister’s supercharged JCW Checkmate, the want is strong(I won’t because it’s not mine).
