Yep. Most of the time, we have to trach people who get it. At least for the acute phase. Not forever.

Thank you for this. As a white woman, I struggle so frequently with knowing when to speak and when to sit the hell down.
This sounds like a wonderful, community-based response. I hope this will catch on!
I want to believe you’re right, and I hope that I’m just having a day of desperation. Sometimes I fear that much of social media becomes a thought vacuum, ending with people sharing their feelings with like-minded friends but not moving beyond that to learn or consider something new.
Liverpool? WTF?
PS - I grew up in a white, rural area myself, where everyone knew everyone and white girls who were friends with black boys were considered trash. Not saying your town is like that, but mine certainly was. So I get where you’re coming from...
That’s a valid question. I live in the DC metro area, so I feel like there is a lot going on around here to get involved with, both monetarily and with my time and energy. For you? Writing congressmen/women, threaten to use your vote against them. Find out what’s going on with the state police in your area. Do they…
Oh, agreed. I just meant it’s not without precedent! It can be done!
It actually already exists to some extent. I am a nurse and worked for years in an area that needed nurses (um...like, EVERYWHERE). I had to turn in paperwork for 5 years but every year, a portion of my federal student loans were forgiven and another portion put on hold for the next year. At the end of the 5 years, I…
I have to express my frustration here - all over Facebook, I see people hashtagging this poor man’s name with a “this must stop” post or “we failed you.”
MABEL!!!! My favorite. :)
I love that shit. For realz. Try their Conditioning Wash, too. it’s a co-poo/no-poo sort of thing.
I’m addicted to Living Proof’s Conditioning Wash, which is a no-poo. I run 5 days a week so I rinse water on it and then put that on the ends. I do a real shampoo once a week.
Last season, Gretchen nearly broke my heart. I adore that show.
Bold plan!
Yeah, I’m not a fan of the concept. I just mean that it was put forth “by women, for women” as a way to be successful while demanding more. Sandberg was just an idiot about it.
The last time he went on vacation, we got a musical out of it.
She’s like what the Lean In movement wishes it could have been, you know? And she’s so goddamn authentic about it. I’m in awe.
