That is indeed a classic..  They laughed at me in Budapest.  THEY LAUGHED AT ME IN PRAGUE!  That still comes out sometimes when at a pub with friends...

Lots of great comments, and lots of songs that should have made it on the list. The most obvious ones missing to me are Sexy MF, Starfish and Coffee, My Name is Prince, Baby I’m a Star, Hot Thing, Alphabet Street, Willing and Able, Play in the Sunshine, Housequake, ... in no particular order. I know there are others

It was pretty amazing to have them there, I suppose, and they were there because they were travelling with the film across Canada to raise awareness and support for the law they were lobbying to have passed here (which I believe did pass as a result of their efforts) to prevent such a tragedy from happening again, so

Yeah, same. I saw it at a film festival a number of years ago, with no idea or preconception as to the film or what it was about. When it was over, everyone in the theatre were basically destroyed by the documentary. Then, to add to it all, after the film we were surprised to learn that the grandparents and filmmaker

I was hoping to see “The Last Seduction “ on this list.. Such a great movie, and Linda Fiorentino is amazing in this.

Same. Wasn’t looking for it, saw the video, thought it was awesome, found a bunch of her other stuff and loved it as well. While not all of her stuff is great, she does have a bunch of good songs worth a listen that are catchy and fun.

A deep cut for sure, but Late for Dinner was a lovely film, a couple of guys get frozen in time, and many years later one tries to get back with his (now much older) wife.. worth it for the interactions of the two main characters.

Just have to put it out there that Greg Kawchuk is a buddy from high School.. so Yay! I so rarely get a chance to name drop!! Yay me!

My go-to remains Jesus Christ Superstar. You get the story, plus some amazing singing and awesome music, and it still remains thoughtful and moving. Every Good Friday a bunch of us get together.. Been doing so for decades. Always worth it.

Hmm..thats possible, I suppose... the old, “back when I was young people respected their elders and were kinder to each other, etc..” kind of thing. I do remember laughing a lot at people like cookie monster, ZMF, Elegant Victorian Lady, and so many others that made coming here such a delightful diversion..so many

I do see some of the old names here and there, but I suppose things change.. there are still fun people here, but I see a little more outrage and trolling than I used to.

Hmm.. spoke too soon... None of my old comments exist anymore. So sad.

Ok, I know this isn’t really quite related, but not sure where to put this, but..1.. they found all my old posts and comments! and I can now organize them! Huzzah! and 2.. They are now showing comments by replies! What is that called? Nesting? Anyhow, yay! I’m one of the original AV Club people from pre-disqus days

I had my gall bladder out a couple of years ago. Stomach felt bad, went to emergency, discovered the problem, took it out. Done in a day or so. No big deal, a couple of incisions, that was it. Oh, and it was free. But I’m in Canada, so experiences may differ.

So, kind of a related story... The Calgary International Film Festival starts up in a week or so, and there is a documentary showing there called “Score”. Its about the songwriting behind the movies, and the importance of the score and soundtrack in film. They have all the heavyweights in it, from John Williams to

Screengrabs was what I thought they were doing... no sense posting the tweet if the article is about how awful it is, as it will likely change or be edited, (in Trump’s case)..

ok.. now that makes sense... Good for Cher.

Don’t forget Raiders.. that still runs in my head every time I meet a goal or solve a problem.. so not often, but still... such a great theme!

this article doesn’t provide the tweet, and scant reason for Cher’s response. Anyone able to say what the tweet was? Its kind of frustrating trying to read an article, when it turns out the reason for the article is.. um.. missing. Just sayin.

Now playing

How about men without hats? Will that suffice?
