I don’t think they cared. They eventually got diversity years later, but not when Colbert was there. John Oliver was pretending to be Steve Carrell, but he was probably chosen because he has a hit show on HBO and has been a guest on the Late Show multiple times.

This was a show to celebrate Colbert’s years at the daily show. He never worked with any of the people mentioned.

I bet you’re fun at parties.

That was John Oliver :)

I am really surprised he didn’t, I wonder what happened behind the scenes?

Wyatt Cenac had a very public falling out with Jon Stewart. He cursed him out in front of the entire staff of TDS. I’m not sure why you think Stewart would host a former employee who left that way. Plus, he wasn’t around in the era of Colbert/Carrell, who left the show in 2005. Cenac didn’t start until 2008.

You’re right, I love that he didn’t back down about the cock holster thing, and he just continues.

The reunion included people who were on The Daily Show with Stephen Colbert, who left in 2005. Larry Wilmore didn’t join until 2006.

He’s not always in front of the camera— Wilmore does a lot of work writing and producing. He’s currently a producer on Black-ish, and is really involved with Insecure— he’s the co-creator, producer, and writes for the show too.

I wish I kept up with podcasts...

Probably because they joined the cast after Colbert left?

He has a new podcast on The Ringer called Black on the Air starting tomorrow.

The Unblackening is complete.

Samantha Bee over everything

Actually, where IS Larry? Has he done anything at all since his show got axed? (And god, how much do I miss his political coverage right now...)

This made me stay late last night, so great to see them together, Sam and John are currently killing it, but Stephen is good too, I loved when Jon addressed the FCC complaint, he refuses the idea that a comedian should be held in the same standards as a politician.

Why? Why do they believe that, and why do we have to make time and room in our hearts for them? Do we take time to hold the hands and stroke the hair of any PETA member who genuinely believes “meat is murder?” If someone sincerely believes vaccines cause autism...well, they’re incorrect, and their incorrect belief

They don’t fucking believe abortion is murder. Ask them who they’d save from a burning building - a live baby or a tray of frozen embryos. Ask them if all women who get abortions should be given the death penalty. Usually they only want to jail the doctors and believe those poor women are just “misguided.”It’s all
